i'm beyond thrilled and honored to have a story in the new issue of Zyzzyva Magazine.

It's an excerpt of "Pier 70 in Its Own Words" which is on display as an installation at WineWorks in Dogpatch in SF, and the whole story is online. But i have to say, I think the brilliant folk at Zyzzyva helped make the printed story the best of the lot.  Thank you to Laura, Oscar and the Zyzzyva Team.

Decemebr 5, 2012

a few weeks ago i was invited to barcelona to document the annual international journalism conference News Xchange. for two days i drew everything that happened and took notes during all the discussions and presentations about the state of journalism, it's future, and why it matters more now than ever. i painted the drawings in my hotel room studio and then put all the drawings together to form a little story summarizing the conference. i presented it as the closing session at the conference and said a few words about graphic journalism. below are a few highlights from the story, and a photo of the giant screens it was projected on, courtesy of Cornelis Jacobs.
